do I have a case on my Insurance and the contractors that rebuild my house?
We had a fire in Sept.2007. The insurance hired contractors to rebuild our home. After 6 months we moved back in. Since then we have had all kinds of problems from windows leek, water coming in threw walls, ceiling leaks, electrical problems, mold, and a lot more. Contractors have been here several times but the problem list is never fixed. We have been getting sick, from heart attacks to doctors don’t know. We think its from the mold. We can’t sell the house because of this. We have a lot wrong but don’t know what to do.

My advice would be to contact an attorney. Many offer free initial no obligation consultations.
Hope your house and health problems are resolved soon!
Talk to a lawyer, but heart attacks are not caused by mold.
Well, you likely aren’t going to be able to blame heart attacks on leaky windows or mold.
Mold is NORMAL. That black toxic mold that hits the papers all the time, is pretty rare. If you had it, you’d be unable to live in the house AT ALL.
You need to talk to your adjuster, and tell them these clowns have had several attempts to fix the problem, and haven’t done it, and you want the adjuster to get someone else out there to do it right.
But keep in mind, mold damage coverage is, at best, severely limited under a homeowners policy – if you insist on remediation, it will likely be on your dollar, and non-recoverable, as it’s excluded under the contractor’s liability coverage as well.
~~There is no way anyone can give you much help without knowing your state laws. However, since your insurance company dealt directly with the contractors that makes them the responsible party.
I don’t know your ages and how serious these problems you are experiencing but constant stress and worry can certainly cause medical problems of all types.
Hopefully you have already documented all your calls and letters (anything in writing would need to be posted certified mail return receipt requested), so you have proof of trying to get these issues resolved. If you have not, make the notes to the best of your ability and write a final notice to your insurance company listing each problem that needs to be corrected and let them know you will file with your insurance commissioner in 30 days if not completely resolved, send it certified, keep a copy and staple the recipients signature to this letter when it is returned to you. It is imperative for you to have paper trails and time, date, and name of every person you have spoken to.
Once you have the final response then contact your State’s Insurance ICommissioner and file a complaint if problems are not completely resolved. . You may also want to see a few personal injury attorneys, just take all your documentation with you.
I would be worried about the leaking and certain climate escalate serious mold problems. However, the electrical would be my major concerns so be sure you have smoke detectors with fresh batteries.
I sincerely wish you the best of luck in this situation, it is certainly a horrible one and not acceptable for anyone to put up with!~~
